Andy Halvorsen
Andy is a Montessori certified educator with a decade of teaching experience. Most recently, he taught 4th, 5th, and 6th graders at Roger’s Park Montessori in Andersonville.
In addition to mastering fundamental subjects such as math, reading, and science, Andy uniquely integrates his skills as a maker, incorporating hands-on materials to enhance the learning process.

Math
We’ll cover arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and trigonometry. Working with students through problem-solving techniques, explanation of theory, and practice exercises tailored to the students individual learning pace.
History & Culture
History and culture tutoring covers epochs, regions, and civilizations such as ancient, medieval Europe, and modern world history. Using timelines, primary sources, comparative analysis, and discussions, we explore historical events, societal changes, and cultural developments.
Science
We'll explore biology, chemistry, physics, and environmental sciences, diving into cellular biology, mechanics, thermodynamics, and ecology. Expect visual aids and interactive discussions to enhance your grasp of scientific principles.
English & Writing
English language tutoring covers grammar, writing, and language skills: grammar usage, essay and creative writing, and language proficiency. Expect personalized feedback, language exercises, and interactive discussions to improve written communication.
Reading
We’ll focus on comprehension, fluency, and critical analysis skills. Topics include etymology, vocabulary building, and literary analysis. Guided reading, exercises, and discussions promote proficiency and a passion for literature.
Student-interest learning
Student-interest learning explores subjects that captivate students, like astronomy, art, coding. We’ll work on personalized projects, have focused discussions, prioritize hands-on activities, and research to foster a lifelong love for learning.
